K40 RL360i Built In Detector
I'm investigating putting a built in system in my C7 and it was suggested I go with the K40. Seems pretty good but very pricey-$2400. Any thoughts, suggestions or alternatives would be welcomed

I went with the 9500ci and absolutely LOVE IT
The auto-learn GPS all but eliminates false alarms on frequently traveled roads, and I can add speed trap locations at the push of a button while driving. Next time I'm on that road it warns me 1/2 mile before I get to the LEO's hiding spot
Dashtronix even makes an adapter that displays all detector info on the HUD (not sure if C7 will get that).
I don't use 'Escort Live', but if you do it has real-time speed trap data from other users.
I did a quick write up on my install here

You recommend AntiLaser Priority even over the StiR anti-laser add ons which much cheaper? Is the STiR anti-laser that bad or the AP that much better?

I along with some of my friends will be conducting a head to head test this upcoming Saturday of the AntiLaser Priority, Laser Interceptor, Escort Laser Shifter Pro, Blinder HPS-905 and the k40 G5. On Sunday we will be in NJ testing the general public's vehicles that have laser jammers installed. See RALETC.com for more information.

I'm pretty sure that my 9500ci jammer works with whatever kind of laser the GA troopers use
On my way home on I-20 about a month ago my unit warned me about a speed trap location that I had previously marked, so of course I slowed down. A few seconds later as I was approaching an overpass I got laser tagged on my front sensor/jammer. I spotted the trooper at the edge of the bridge, in his car pointing the laser out of his window. The front sensor went off again, then as I went under the bridge I saw the trooper getting out of his car. He ran to the other side of the bridge and tagged me three more times from behind as I drove away at exactly the speed limit.
Unless he was just admiring the Centennial Edition GS and practicing his aim on a car doing the speed limit, I'd guess that he never got a good reading on me

Just because he kept targeting you doesn't mean he didn't get a speed reading. Before I had laser jammers on my car and only a radar detector, I was continuously targeted for over 1/4 of a mile while driving the PSL.
Next time you are targeted by LIDAR, once you each the PSL turn your jammers off. Jamming to gun or jamming from gun can illicit suspicion from the LEO and can result in you being pulled over.

I've thought a lot about this and I think that's good advice. I would think a complete inability to get a reading would make some troopers very suspicious.

The new STiR add on laser jammer is ok. There are two laser guns it doesn't jam; the DragonEye Speed LIDAR and the DragonEye Compact LIDAR. The AntiLaser Priority jams both. For less money than the Stir+ with the Laser Shifter Pro, you can buy the AntiLaser Priority and add the radar detector module and Stir+ radar antenna. You will have all of the functionality of the STiR+ with the exception of GPS based false radar lockouts and the Defender database of fixed redlight and speed cameras. I use WAZE for speed and redlight camera locations.

What happened with this? I think thinking about a RL360i for my Z06/07

People that don't turn their jammers off immediately once they slow down to the limit end up ruining it for everyone else. The point is to make it seem like just a targeting error to give you a buffer to slow down, not to stick out like a sore thumb and let the LEO know you have a jammer installed

Doesn't seem relevant though if a shifter isn't illegal in your state! Lucky for me they are legal in Washington so I don't see what he could do if he pulled you over.

Nothing... but again, too many cars driving by troopers constantly jamming laser led to enough departments complaining for Texas to declare laser jammers illegal back in 2011.
