Our NAV system is driving us nuts. It started a couple months ago when the radio and screen would stay on when the car was off and the door was opened. It would eventually go off. Then the screen would go black and the radio would stay of but no control on the volume. I was told on the C6 forum that it was because the battery was getting old. I changed that and now I still have the same issues. Now the NAV screen only shows "NAV DVD is not installed" but it is. And.. the entire radio and NAV will just shut off when driving now.
Is this common with this system? Really needing to look into a replacement system SOON.

Suggestions that won't take away a ton away from my '73 Corvette rebuild project?

Try this: Disconnect the car battery, then hold the + and - cables in contact with each other for a few minutes. If you're lucky that will reboot the radio.
