Default '96 CE Radio replacement

I'm looking at replacing the stock Gold BOSE HU with an aftermarket Android unit. I believe I've read most of the appropriate threads / links on replacing the HU on a late C4, but still are a bit fuzzy on the approach.

Assuming one keeps the receiver in the storage compartment and OEM wiring from there to the BOSE Amps/speakers, exactly what is the type of connection between the new HU and the receiver? Does one use the RCA line out outputs of the new HU and connect them to the inputs on the receiver? I've looked at the Metra harness adapter for late C4's and it just didnt click to me what the approach of interconnection was.

Sorry in advance if this is the um-teenth time these type of questions have been asked.

Thanks

ken
