Default Advice on this System

I have a 2004 Convertible C5 and I am looking to change out my current sound system. Any opinions on this set up? This system was designed for my car and I am not very knowledgable about current car systems. Any input would be greatly appreciated.

1. Pioneer AVIC-5000NEX with build in GSP, Bluetooth - Apple iPod ready Dash Receiver
2. Alpine PDX-V9 - PDX series 1600W Class D Digital Multichannel MOSFET Amplifier
3. Polk Audio MM6501, MM Series 6-1/2" 2-Way Component Car/Marine Loudspeaker system with Crossover
4. Polk Audio MM651, MM Series 6-1/2" 2-Way Coaxial Car/Marine Loudspeakers (Pair)
5. Polk Audio MM1040DVC, 10" Dual-Voice-Coil 4-Ohm Subwoofer
6. Kicker PK4, P-Series Power Kit for most aftermarket amplifiers - Blue/Gray
7. Kicker 09XI25/QI15, X-Series 16.5' 2-Channel RCA audio cable
8. Metra TC5GMS, GM Battery Terminal- Short
9. Metra TCCAP1D, One Farad Digital Capacitor
10. Dynamat- Extreme
11. Sub Box Stealth Box 10" Enclosure
12. Pair of C5 Speaker Adapter Plates
13. Double Din Bezel
14. Double Din Install Brackets

Looks like it is going to be a nice setup. The only input I have is...

The sub is a DVC 4-Ohm with an RMS of 350w, but the amp is a 500w @ 2-Ohm RMS on the mono channel. I don't have too much experience with Polk subs and how they handle being over powered.

It should sound pretty good once completed

Rear speakers in C5 vert are 5.25", not 6.5"

May want to try the Polk MM521 if you're stuck on polk's.

You really won't need the cap, but it doesn't hurt anything.

It should be OK as long as the setup is done properly to prevent clipping. You'll definitely get all the bass you can out of that sub

13. Double Din Bezel
14. Double Din Install Brackets

2500.00 with replacement bezel
2300.00 to send us your bezel
plus shipping

Change radio to a recommended 8000 since you have a vert for 350.00 more...you will want the 8000 in a vert as you can see the screen better. The 8000 and the 991 have capacitive touch screens and much better options for sunlight

I like the polk mm1040s. As a matter of fact I'm looking at installing 6 of them in the rear on a 3000 watt mmat amp. if my calculations are correct I can fit all of them under the targa top of my c6. Of course I'll have to go sealed but that's alright.

I would rethink the Polk speakers (very bright sounding). Look at Dynaudio or Morel speakers/subs. The Arc's are good also.

If you're trying to get a sub to fit under the targra top you're going to have to look at the shallow mount stuff that's less than 5 inches depth. I know the Polks are pretty decent price and you can fit the twelves under the targa top
