Default C6 sub question

So I have a 12 sub in the hatch installed along with an amp behind the seat. I can hear the distortion from the door subs. What do yall normally do with the subs in the doors. I replaced the 8" subs in the doors with kicker components. And now when I turn the volume up I can sorta hear distortion from the doors and is not the tweeter.

Did you add a component set or just a coaxial in its place. I already replaced the stock 8" with a component set

Do you have the stock radio, and are components powered by an aftermarket amp?

If aftermarket, try raising the low end crossover frequency on both the sub and the fronts. If the issue is that the mid/bass component speaker is distorting due to too much volume on the low frequencies, then this would fix it. Just be careful that you don't get the freq too high for the sub.

It's a stock head unit. The components are not powered by an amp just factory wired. The amp for the sub is a hifonics 1100.1d powering the new pioneer 12" champion sub. Still can't really dial in the amp to get it to hit just right either.

you should definitely consider replacing the factory head unit with an aftermarket one. From there I would definitely consider getting an amp for your mid range and highs.

What is the exact model number of the sub, or do you know the ratings (RMS power, number of coils, and their ohm ratings)? If dual coil, how is it wired?

Your door speakers are prob clipping at high volume due to the stock amp being underpowered, which can destroy the speakers if you leave it there for very long.

Where/how did you get the signal that feeds the sub amp?

Well the it's pioneers newest champion model. I've had the 2 previous generations and love them. It's rms is around 400 I believe single voice coil and idk where the audio shop got the signal for it. And yeah I need to get an aftermarket unit for the car and amp for the other speakers. But lol one thing at a time lol
