Idatalink Maestro RR
I am getting ready to pull the trigger on a DD setup and just started looking into the Idatalink Maestro RR to interface with my 04 Z06. Is anyone running one of these in a C5? If so how hard was it to hook up and are you satistified with it? Thanks for any feedback.

I could be wrong, but in a C5 I don't think the Maestro interface will give you any more features than the significantly less expensive ROEM-Vet1.
You only really need an interface if you have all stock speakers, if you have an aftermarket amp then no interface is required for a new radio.

I am considering an installation of the Pioneer Avic-8200NEX in my 2007 Corvette Coupe which is a 3LT and presently has Bose, Nav, SiriusXM, etc. I see that this new Pioneer 8200 has OBD connectivity but I cannot figure out how or if it will work with my Corvette. When I checked on the Idatalink site for their RR unit there was no Corvette available in any year. This seems odd because, as we know, these cars already offer a ton of data so clearly the sensors are already there. It would just be nice to see it on the color screen (I think). I don't see why they would not be accessible by a 3d party interface. Is there an alternative to Idatalink that would create a proper connection to the 8200 head and provide this data as I have seen in Pioneers advertising? Are they suggesting that some knucklehead in his mini-van can see this stuff and WE can't? What's wrong with that picture

No firmware available to flash the Maestro for the C6. So using the Maestro is not an option other than the SW control module.

Thanks, Dennis. Is there any alternative... a way for the data to show up on the 8200? If not I guess the 8100 would be the way to go (and save a few bucks) as the OBD connectivity seems to be the only difference between the two units.

no
both the 8100 and 8200 are pretty much the same...
Just an FYI
We have had a ton of problems with both radios as well. So MAKE SURE YOU BUY FROM AN AUTHORIZED DEALER or you will have issues if you one of the unlucky ones.
Pioneer has recently switched the warranty
yes authorized dealers will honor the 1 year warranty
However now anything after 30 days of purchase the radio MUST be sent to Pioneer for repair. NO more swapping units for new ones with someone like myself after 30 days like we used to do.

I appreciate the heads-ups. I had hoped that their issues had been address with firmware updates. I may need to reconsider because the last thing i need is a buggy head unit. My needs are not too complicated: I want a clean unit that offers solid Nav, Android Auto, SiriusXM connectivity and a bright LARGE screen. The higher the screen res the better for my liking. Any suggestions? I'm not a teenager and i don't care about 90% of the crap and bloat-ware that they try to pack into this new units.

WORTH the wait.

I was looking into that unit but passed due to it being unavailable and the fact that it was so new it had no reviews or track history. If it's worth the wait I guess I'll sit tight. Feel free to drop me a note if they become available through you. Thanks again for your insight, Dennis.

I am willing to give it a try once it's available. If you would, please let me know when you have them in stock and we'll go from there. By the way; I like the idea of being able to integrate a K40 radar unit with. This sounds like a great feature!
Thanks again.

Thanks again.

Only problem is you have to use the MAestro to integrate the radar
