Default Best place to run cable through the firewall.

Planning on installing an AMP and Sub this weekend on my C5. Is there any pass throughs on the firewall that are easy to get to. I tried to run it through the grommet plug for the hood release cables but was not able to get it to pass through

Thanks

I used the same Grommet behind the battery. I used 4ga for one amp and it was hard to get through. Probably the hardest part of my install. I had read all of the install help on here, there is even a picture somewhere, and will agree that you need to wd-40 your 4 ga line to get it through. I ended up cutting it a little and then retaping it back sealed, since I didnt want wd-40 getting on my carpet. Its also really hard to see where it is coming through to your passenger floorboard but if you jam your fingers up in the right corner you will finally find it to pull through. Good luck.

Same question for an 89 C4. I'm installing a 400w Kenwood, one of the new little silver ones, under the passenger seat. What's the best way to get power to it? I have 8 gauge wire, is that large enough for a 400 watter? Where's a good place to ground it?

Not sure on the C4 locations in the firewall that you could place the power wire. I used 4 ga with a JL 700 watt amp. 8ga might work but always use 4ga or bigger.

Cut the tape on the wiring and slide it in the driver side of the wires if that makes sense. It'll save you a lot of Hassle
