Alpine CDE 143BT no bass
When I bought my 04 Z06 it came with a Alpine CDE 143BT installed. The install looks clean and well done. However I did not look behind the unit.
The problem is that no matter how I adjust the HU I get very little bass and when I turn the volume up the bass is very washed out. S*it the stock unit in my 08 Silverado sounds better than the Alpine in my vette.
Any ideas?

Can you tell if the door speakers are stock? If yes it may have been a hasty return to stock that left the subs non-functional.
Previous owner may have had a sub in the trunk. There may be a few wires left under the carpet that you can use to add one.

I had that exact unit in my F350 and it was amazing. I highly doubt it has to do with the Alpine. You likely have something else going on, as was described above. I was actually looking to put the same unit into the next Corvette I purchase. I hope it's an easy fix!
