How do you install a OEM navigation unit in a c6 with bose radio
im looking to get the write up for how to switch out my current bose radio unit (remove) with an oem navigation unit (install)
is it plug and play or will i be needing other cables?
I heard after install i need to get the navigation radio flashed to the vin of my car to work. is that true?
anything with installing info would help a lot
thanks

It will be plug and play for most of the install. You will likely only need to add a GPS antenna. Assuming that you have HUD, the VSS (vehicle Speed Sensor) connector should be in the back already, you just have to fish it out and connect into the Nav unit. If no HUD, then you will need to run a wire from the Speedometer for the speed.
The voice command comes from the OnStar VCIM module, and that connector should also be tucked in the back of the radio surround console.
You can buy the GPS antenna from the dealer.
here's where you can install the antenna.
Once you have everything hooked up, you can try the unit in ACC mode to make sure everything works.
Once you start the car, the anti-theft will lock it out.
You will need to get a dealer to marry the Nav unit to your vehicle VIN #.

If you are doing the install yourself, contact Dennis at DoubleD (forum vendor) for the proper adapter and surround...if you are having a professional do the install, he should know which ones are required.
