I just saw there was a $100 rebate on most units from May till August now.

The 893 is a good unit. I like 8200NEX over it though.

Very familiar with the Nex series and actually played with the 893 yesterday.

In my opinion is where is shines is with the Maestro. Its very basic without it. The only thing you get with Maestro on the C6 is steering wheel controls. Also as per Kenwood USA the Carplay models will be around until October of 2017 since they were so delayed. It will be dated very fast.
New NEX and Alpine units will be out Dec/January.

anyone care to share a review of the DNX893S ? Pros/Cons. I was debating between this and the Pioneer 8200

Purchased a Kenwood DNX893S from Dennis @ Double D Mods. Dennis was very responsive in answering question during the installation and all of the functions of the radio are up and working. It took me about 8 hours to install and set the functions to my preference. Very pleased will the unit and the modification to my C5 bezel done by Dennis. Value, honesty, performance, and integrity are found at Double D Mods.

How do you like it so far? Pros / cons? Anything in particular that you like the most ? Least?

so after 6 months with the system I like it a lot, but there are issues. There are random reboots happening quite often on this unit at least once everytime I'm using it. Anyone else experience this? Carplay is a little buggy too, it disconnects sometimes and I have to unplug and plug back in the phone.

I have had absolutely 0 resets and I use it daily for about an hour. Have you updated the firmware? I put a video up on how to do it. I dont know if it will help or hurt.

I've got the latest firmware as well and have run into one particular issue. I haven't been able to isolate it to a set of variables, but when playing music through Car Play, it will sometimes "skip", like a CD. Ranging from a couple second blank spot to up to 30 seconds... Never with the radio only.

I am going to Initialize my HU and start over...
