C5 Z06 audio questions
Hey everyone, I'm the proud new owner of a low mile torch red C5 Z.
I already purchased two 8" JL 10W3V3 4ohm subs from vettenuts with fiberglass enclosures.
I am NO audio expert, but was told for crisp clean bass to go with those. i dont know what ohms are, so please, take it easy on me.
What i want :
-double din
-reverse camera
-front bumper camera
-dashcam
-Bluetooth to be able to drive hands free
-clean sound
Now my questions are :
-what head unit do you suggest? i see many android type head units, they look cool but are they quality? leaning towards kenwood tho...
-What speakers? do i get 4? only the ones in the door? what brand, JL all around?
-Amp...5 channel im guessing? any ideas on this?
-last is sound deadening...on vettenuts they have a full kit. any ideas on this matter?
Thanks everyone!

Go to a local shop to compare the interface of Kenwood vs. Pioneer, then go with the one that you like best (can't go wrong with either).
Figure out your total budget for the project, then call Dennis at DoubleDmods.com to go over the many options you have.
I'd recommend a 6.5" component set for the doors, and 2-way 5.25" coaxials for the rear.
A good 4-channel amp for the fronts & rears, then another 4-channel bridged to 2 for the subs would work well. The rear vertical wall in C5 is a great place to mount them.
If you want to go with a 5-channel... Look for one that has a 5th channel rating of 400-500wRMS at 2 ohms, that will let you properly power the subs with them wired in parallel.

ok i dont really understand the ohms but i was leaning towards kenwood. is navigation(gps) included in these new receivers or do you need to pay a 2nd party service to get it? does it make a difference that im in cananda?
the subs already ran me 1000$ usd.
So a kenwood receiver with the features i wand is also 1000+
what speakers would work well with the subs i have?
And in terms of amps id rather get one amp rather than two to keep it looking clean and save weight?
ThANKS GUYS

The Kenwood units that come with Nav have the maps built in, no subscription needed, but you may want to update the maps in a few years (cheaper on ebay).
Your amp and speaker choices will depend on how much you want to pay.
What is your budget?

OK will call him this week... so i guess first thing is too send him my center console...
Do you think with the subs i will be running, will sound deadning(dynamat) be absolutly neccesary?? Already with the stock Bose system in the car, on certain tracks, it vibrates like crazy(dew wipe strips, door area, etc...)
thanks again for all the help!

If you have buzzing at higher volumes with certain notes you'll need to figure out what is vibrating and fix whatever is loose. Covering everything inside the doors may work, but if it's a loose speaker screen then it won't help.

The Kenwood radios that have NAV built in use Garmin systems and they work very well and are easy to use. They have loads of good features. I have one in my car and the bluetooth phone is also very good. Once again, Dennis is the man to call.
