C6 Bose issue

They quoted over $400 each so I'm assuming it was the powered subs after doing some research on OEM speakers. If that is the issue, why would the rear speakers have static too?

I suppose it's possible that a bad speaker could put the amp into some type of protection mode, causing it to shut down, but what you were describing didn't sound like that.
Have you considered upgrading to aftermarket amp/speakers? You can get a pretty good sounding setup for under $1000.
If you don't want to upgrade, at least try to find some take-off speakers on the forum

I am late to the party, but this recently happened to me. I did notice that if I hit a bump it would momentarily clear up. Took the door panels off and found no loose wires but in the course of messing with it I somehow ended up with my knee against the amp on the driver's side and it cleared the sound up. took my knee off, and it went crackly and weak. turned out the two philips head screws that hold the amp to the speaker had loosened. Tightened the two of them, and the passenger side too, and now the speakers sound good again.

Just the door subs only. The rear speakers (which were no longer bose when I got this car) did not exhibit the issue, neither did the center dash speaker or the door tweeters. The big door speakers would crackle and make terrible sounds until I hit another bump, then they would either go out, or slip down to very low volume.
We took the door panels off to see what other speakers might fit as I assumed they were blown because of the crackling noises. It was by accident that I found that the two screws that hold the amps in place had come loose. As soon as those screws were right everything sounded just as it should. Who would have thought? Give it a check. Heck you have nothing but 6 or 7 minutes to lose, right?

So I pulled the door panels off and disconnected all door speakers. The dash speaker and rear speakers still sound horrible. I wouldn't think the door subs would be the problem per the dealer???

Nah went with an aftermarket Bluetooth touch screen without navi. I can get a refund less labor too if this doesn't fix it. However the only next step would
mosy likely to be to install a whole new system bypassing the Bose amp.

Finally have closure. The new radio fixed it. I think I still hear some feedback in the door speakers but the sound is back and ready to roll.

ok so I now have the JVC Touchscreen installed with a harness through the Bose ampand speakers. Sound has been restored. However, over bumps and sometimes just randomly, especially right after startup like leaving the driveway, the speakers still pop a little. Is this a setting? Ground? Bad speakers?
