Default C6 stereo upgrade

I have a 2010 ZR1 and I am up grading the stereo system. I'm using Hertz Mille MPK 6.5 inch components in the doors along with a Hertz HDP5 amp. I'm probably going to go with an 8" sub for the rear, probably a Sundown Audio. My question is, how important are the rear 5.25" speakers? Do I need them? Can I just not use any speakers back there or should I have something for rear fill?

They are not important at all. I used them as fill to see, then cut them off. Just use T/A and set the front stage accordingly and you will be good to go

This is probably a dumb question but what is T/A?

Time alignment. You are basically accommodating the differences in distance( time) that it takes for the sound wave to reach the listening position.
