Default Completely bypass radio in a C4??

I don't like the looks (or performance) of the aftermarket radio the PO installed in my C4. I have the original non-functioning BOSE head unit in a box.
Can I use a portable bluetooth speaker system paired with my iPhone for music/radio functions? This would enable me to disconnect the existing radio and replace it -solely for appearance purposes- with the non-functioning Bose unit.
Here's an example of the speakers I'm talking about:

Remember- SIRI gives you a lot of voice control to keep it hands-free.
Has anyone done this?? Do these speakers have the 'oomph' to overcome road noise? Drawbacks?

I would find a non Bose unit from the 90s could even get a CD player from say a 97 cavalier that should look good appearance wise and get a harness and wire it into some replacment speakers in the doors and/or an amp

Another option is a complete aftermarket amp/speaker setup with a BT receiver permanently wired directly to the amp RCA inputs, assuming you can control volume from the phone via BT.

If volume control from BT source isn't possible, add a PAC LC-1

From my experience, most of the bluetooth bricks would have a hard time overcoming road noise. I think markcz has the right approach. There are even amps (usually marine amps) that have BT built right in.

You could use something like one of these so that you have a physical volume/track control

Just mount it in an inconspicuous place.

Of course we are now talking about orders of magnitude more money. Maybe buy the 30 dollar speaker and try. If it sucks, send it back and re-assess.
