Took the Plunge Today... System upgrade to my '02 coupe has begun.
Thanks to many on this board, I have made my selections and the work has begun on my 4 week old '02. Here are some highlights:
-Custom shelf holding an A/D/S P850 amp, alumapro 5 farad cap and possibly the crossovers.
-CDT Eurosports in the doors. CDT classics or cambria in the rear.
-12 inch Solobaric L7 w/grill in custom enclosure fitted to rear center well.
-Headunit will be the new Clarion 825.....
Boy am I anxious....

Can I ask a questions here? Why do you need a 5 farad cap for one 12" woofer?
I just don't understand the whole cap phenomenom.
I would take the money from the cap and buy a better amp & speakers, just my two cents.....

I always have a cap in my installs Not sure if you are asking about the size..... It's my understanding that alumapro doesn't follow the conventional method of calculating the size of the cap for any given amp. It's my understanding that much of the material used in the alumapro caps is from Russia and it's properties are different.
As far as price goes....I didn't think $325 was much for the cap....
You may be right about the rear fill...I didn't expect the rears to do anthing more than rear fill, but now I wonder if they will be seriously unbalanced with the euro's in front. Goota llok more into ths one...
Anxious to start tuning it.... :D

I'm running Focal 165W up front, and just for kicks I ran my old 4" point source speakers. Imaging went down the tubes.
And remmeber, if you use inferior speakers in back, and superior speakers up front.. you're still going to hear those things that make the inferior speakers.. inferior...
Are you mounting them in kick pods, or in the door?
Don't forget to deaden the car.
