Help: I need a sub
I've been waiting for my Elemental Designs e13o.v2 for weeks now and I'm ready to cancel the order and pick up something similar. I was thinking a JL Audio 12w6v2, but I need it to be 4 ohms, and they are only available in dual 4.
So, any suggestions that will give me nice low frequency, SQL, and transient response compared with the ed subs?
I've made a box that is exactly 1.0 ft^3 with an 11" cut out diameter. I plan to invert the sub, so the mounthing depth isn't really a problem. I will be running it from a PPI amp briged to 500 watts so it will need to be wired up at 4 ohms.
Any suggestions!

I hear the ID Max is a great sub and will easily take 500 watts rms and is available at 4 ohms. Cheaper subs would include Pioneer and JBL.
Good luck
PS I'm currently running a Pyle 12 (120 watts) with a PPI amp bridged to 600 watts rms. Haven't blown it yet
This is a temp fix for my stolen stereo out of my Blazer

Have you been in contact with the guys at Elemental? My E8a took a LONG time too, but luckily my car was a long way from being on the road when I ordered my sub, so it was no big deal. I thought they had lost my order until I talked to them. They are a small shop and may be having a hard time filling all of their orders. At the time I ordered mine, they were still hand assembling the speakers, and could only crank out so many. If you are not in too much of a hurry, I would talk to them and see what the wait will be. The sub I got from them is very nice, and I am glad I waited.

1.0 isnt enough for an IDMAX... youd need a box thats around 1.5 for it, sealed.

Kicker Solo Baric is a nice sub for the price. Click on the link below to see mine.
Also, I'm not telling you to do it, but I would run that PPI in 2 Ohm Mono all day long and wouldn't think twice about. Just use good quality wiring atleast 12g - 10g speaker wire from the Amp to the sub and atleast 4g power wire to the Amp.

My installer was going to put a Diamond in my car but I found a good deal elsewhere on an Alpine amp and sub so I went for it. I'm an Alpine fan but I would have gone with the Diamond based on his recommendations.
