Completed! 1/12 `67 Corvette L-88 Coupe, Take Two
As some of you saw in my other thread, when I built the first L-88 `67 Corvette, I was requested to write a magazine feature on it. It is on the cover of the latest Model Cars magazine (http://www.modelcarsmag.com). Since I had already sold the model before writing the article, and the article was to be a "how too" on all the modifications and assembly, I needed to start a new kit for the pictures in the article. Because of this, I decided to complete an identical L-88 `67 Corvette coupe, since this was by far my favorite build. After a few months in the making, it is finally complete. This is the last of my 1/12 Corvette kits, and I don`t plan on building another L-88, as this was *alot* of work to get everything right. The kit comes with the typical Tri-power setup, which means a lot of the parts needed to be fabricated. I have yet to see anyone else convert one of these to an L-88, and as far as I know, there are no large scale L-88 coupes, die casts or kits. Again, I tried to get the chassis chalk markings and hose lettering detail correct. The window sticker, inspection sticker, and license plate are all taken from real items from the time period and are correct. I will be posting the Ebay auction shortly. Let me know what you think!

That is truly a work of art. That model is probably more correct that the real thing. Excellent. Good luck with the auction, someone is going to be very happy.

Are any of them close to you? If you are unable to find any, I can pick up some up here. I go all the way up to Lemoyne to get mine, which would be about a 2 hour drive for you. Let me know.

Very nice work
I thought of you at Corvettes at Carlisle a week ago. A vendor there was selling this kit for $25. and I was thinking that if I had your phone number, I will call to see if you would want me to pick it up for you.

Cool...thanks for the thought! You are right near me too! Wow, $25 is really good for that kit if it was in any kind of decent condition. People are asking up over $100 on eBay on a couple of those kits. How did that one look?

I am growing a little concerned. Since eBay took away the featured area, views are way down on this one so far. I may just have to give up on selling them this way.

Awesome model !!!
Information comment only.........the first Goodyear Blue Streak Sports Car Specials did not have a blue stripe. They had a blue color dot only, and first came on the 1965 GT350 street versions. I put the blue streak race tires on my, bought new 1966 L72 425HP Laguna Blue conv. which came with wsw. They had the blue stripe, but also were RWL like all the real racing Goodyears of the day. I often saw racing Bluestreaks with the RWL barely visible. All the roadracing Goodyears used in TransAm and IMSA races of the day had the bluestripes on them, but often obscured. So I say, very likely the real car could have had the tires installed by a customer like me... back in the day.
Your model is super good !!! There is a white on white w/ 2 tops '67 L88 conv here locally[Dave Walters collection]...also one of one. Your car would match it feature for feature !!

Customs are very hard to sell, especially on Ebay. I've been buying and selling on Ebay for 12 years, and two things might be hampering your auction, the high shipping cost and the ending time/day.

Thanks 7Vette. Yeah, I am finding that out I guess. Oh well. I have been thinking about changing the shipping costs. I usually go high to make sure it`s covered, so maybe I`ll drop it down a little.
