Default BBR C7 up close and personal...

Ever wonder what the inside of a $250 1/18 BBR C7 looks like?

I'm attempting an interior color change on one for a friend of mine. A project not for the feint of heart!
EVERY piece is made of resin, with the exception of the windshield, axles, and tires.
And the 'craftsmen' in China are not bashful with the glue gun!
The slightest mis-step results in the part shattering! Found that out the hard way on one of the door panels...

It's hard to believe that something as nice as these are on the outside, are so crude on the inside...

Hot glue must be cheap in China!

Originally the car had a red interior...

I hope to have the cracked door panel repaired today and slap this thing back together...

There is no way I'd pay $250 for one of these or even at the sale price of $162.50 as on http://www.replicarz.com/118-Corvett...products/1896/. Someone is getting rich off of these. I guess if you have to have a copy of your 1:1 and it is a convertible C7, this is the only choice, but they are so not worth the money with no opening features.

I agree with you, Bob. Way overpriced!

I've been wanting to try one of these to replicate my DSOM '16.
A friend has a Torch Red '15 and wanted a model,
so I thought this would be a good way to see how they come apart and if a repaint would be feasible.
Short answer - NO F'N WAY!
So, I settled on this repaint of the interior and sold it to my friend!

I was able to get it with the 'club' discount for $152, but that is still way too much, in my opinion...

Come on Maisto - we want that 1/18 Convertible!
