I ran everything at some point on my C4... A6, R6, BFG, and Kuhmo. Without a doubt, these were my favorite. I saw the exact same thing on my car in that they were just a little but off of the R6 for fastest lap (about 1s or so at VIR) but WAY more consistent over a run and WAY more life out of them.

Had a set of these (or some GY very like them) on the first set of race wheels. Very good long lasting tires.

Yes these are really good tire, i have 2 more sets of them with 6 and 10 heat cycles that i will run until they don't work anymore, I ran the last set 20+ HC before they gave up the grip!

Would these heat up fast enough for autoxing?

They are the RR compound, so they would work well for all but seriuos competietion, then you should go to A compound. I used to use both depending if practice or competition.
