Default CAGS Eliminated !!!!!!!!!!!!!

Installed the CAGS device tonight.

Although if you drive it like a Vette, it doesn't kick in but when you are in traffic, what a headache

NO MORE

I am free at last, thank God Almighty I am free at last

I heard that somewhere but forgot just who or when

Hey guys, what the big deal about CAGS? My Z06 is my daily driver and track car, I try to drive smoothy on the street, and never spin tires and put down rubber, and get decent city and very good highway milage. I almost never encounter CAGS, and when it does appear, it's no big deal, usually associated with lack of attention when traffic signals change. I associate it with complaints about high performance brake pads squealing and putting out excessive dust, fouling the wheels and wax job.

Drove me nuts, too. On the street I'll often short-shift out of 1st and accelerate in 2nd... CAGS was deadly for that. I have a buddy with an '06 GTO that's whining loudly about it right now, too... he usually encounters it on an easy turn and then fumbles through the 1st/4th/3rd dance.

The only time I even knew my CAGS even existed was when I let a friend drive my car. He normally drives a Mazda rotary and since the LS7 has so much torque he just feels that he should short shift like a diesel. I tell him that it revs to 7 grand so don't shift so much! I hated the CAGS on my '89 C4 with the L98, since the L98 was out of breath at 4500 so it felt like you should short shift it...

CAGS may be fine in unobstructed driving conditions, but, IMHO, can be dangerous in stop and go traffic conditions.

You are absolutely correct. It is a danger. When you least expect it, in traffic, it can be a dangerous experience. One time I stepped on the gas expecting the car to do something other than bog down in 4th. Yes if I had goosed the throttle a bit more it would not have been an issue.
