This is always a great event and I normally try to get there, but with the runoffs date change, I can't make this one. VIR...in October and cool weather!!!!! Oh man, I'm going to be hating driving on that crappy HPT track when VIR is available and just 2.5 hours away. Damn!

Dang Chris, I was hoping you would be there, so I could try staying with you at a few places on the track. My problem is that my best time is about 10 sec slower that your best time.

Sorry about that...but you can blame the SCCA for moving the runoffs back to the October time frame again. It was once in November when at Road Atlanta, and then in October when they moved it to Mid Ohio, but it was so cold and rainy then, they changed it to September. Now that we're in the midwest for this event, it's back to October. Personally, I'm in favor of moving it back to Road Atanta/VIR in November again!!!! ha ha

VIR in October with CG is always a great event, the potential of perfect weather and a great track, a lot of Vettes, and good company. I'll try to make it. It comes after a "Seat Time" at Summit, Oct 5, a good occassion to run with fast, safe drivers. If you get a chance to do so, hitch a ride with Jim at VIR. HPDE has a lot of "smooth but slow," instructors. Jim is of that more disirable but rare breed, "smooth but fast," and full of useful insights. Sorry to miss Chris, a member of that even rarer "smooth and super fast" breed. I've learned a lot about driving from both, and use Chris' VIR line. I had to learn it from riding with him and from his tapes. He's far too fast for me to follow.

It's too bad you will miss this event. BUT... Synergy will be running their Fall Fling at VIR (full) Oct 21-22. A bunch of us will be there. Maybe Synergy still has room available if you decide to join us?

My wife and I will be there with both cars. We were already registered, then I saw this thread. Called up Aryan and mentioned the CF discount and he's refunding us the difference! Kudos to him for being willing to do that!

As of yesterday, I'll be up there too - work has messed up a few events I planned for later this year, so I'm glad to squeeze one in!

John, I know it's a long drive for you, but if you want to break up the trip, you and Edith can stay with Jane and me at our new house in Wilmington, DE.(just a mile off I-95)

No more Dogies for me. My Siberian Husky is now at my Daughters house near Richmond. I'll get to see my Daughter and dog on this trip to VIR.

Gordon, with his hot 427, will also be coming to this event. We'll be staying at the Lodge at the track. Hope to see you some time soon. I'm looking forward to meeting all the "Forum Folks" planning to be at this event.

Jim
