Should be a helluva race. Thank goodness I'll be there and don't have to wait two weeks to see the race on speed.

Appears they have Lou weighted down and he is still right on the pace.

On a more somber note the ALMS times still show the Corvettes as over a seond slower than the Astons becuase of those damn restrictors.

I am guessing a few of the guys at the top of that list ran sticker tires during practice. Several of the teams have been known to run stickers in practice to help tune the qual setup.

That said, should be a great race with such a close-knit group. Obviously 2nd practice spread things out a bit, but very good none-the-less.

The short answer is yes, LG still has a good shot at the championship if he qualifies and finishes well. This is the breakdown for awarding drivers points in SWC GT:

ARTICLE 2.3: DRIVERS’ CHAMPIONSHIP POINTS

2.3.1: SCCA Pro will award Championship points and maintain the point standings to determine a Drivers’ Champion in each vehicle class. Points will be awarded to finishers based on their final position at each event as follows:

1 - 30 points 2 - 27 points 3 - 25 points 4 - 23 points 5 - 21 points
6 - 20 points 7 - 19 points 8 - 18 points 9 - 17 points 10 - 16 points
11 - 15 points 12 - 14 points 13 - 13 points 14 - 12 points 15 - 11 points 16 - 10 points 17 - 9 points 18 - 8 points 19 - 7 points 20 - 6 points 21 - 5 points 22 - 4 points 23 - 3 points 24 - 2 points 25 - 1 point

2.3.2: In addition to the above point system, the following points will be awarded to the top five qualifiers;

1 - 5 points 2 - 4 points 3 - 3 points 4 - 2 points 5 - 1 point

Also, one (1) point will be awarded to any driver who leads a lap in each class, and one (1) point to the driver who leads the most laps in each class during the race. In case of a tie, the driver with the highest finishing position will be awarded the point. Additional bonus championship point schedules may be added, or amended, during the season.

Thanks for posting this Joe! I didn't know how the point system worked in Speed WC.

Lou just has to finish well and keep "Awesome Lawson" behind him. Hopefully way behind him. I think that he's the only one that Lou has to worry about at this point.

Thanks for posting Tom!

I don't like to see Lawson in 8th. I think that it would be a nice time for Lou to win another one and for Lawson to have a DNF.
