Thanks, that's probably the direction I'm heading towards.

Still don't know if it was worth 4 posts though

I couldn't even delete them and they showed nothing when I clicked. They were all free anyway

Unfortunatly that is the kit that has the narrow body caliper without Thermlock pistons. I would look closer at the DRM kit that uses the original SL6 with the Thermlocks. I'm not a fan of the narrow body caliper, smaller pads, no Thermlocks and more expensive than the wide body. Just my $.02 but I would look at the DRM kit if you are really going to use them out on the track.

I saw saw the picture and never looked, really couldn't find the kit spec's. DRM kit would be best for any hard abuse.

What was Precision Brakes Wilwood dealer on the forum is now under another name. They seem to have stuck a few people on the forum also when they changed names.

calipers with the thermlocks are about $1,600 alone (no rotors, pads, or hoses)...when I was doing my upgrade, I spoke with someone named Jason at Wilwood...If your intended use for the car is the track only (endurance events), then I would go with the thicker pistons and thermlocks...they definitely handle the heat better...However, if you use your car the way I do (80% as a street racer), then this kit is perfect...

I purchased a Wilwood front brake kit from Precision Brakes earlier this year. The kit I purchased uses 4 piston forged superlite calipers, and I added the thermlock pistons. The rotors are 13" slotted 2 piece rotors. I only went with the 13” front rotors because I wanted to stick with my 17” CCW wheels that I use for the track. For my early C4, 1985, the choices for aftermarket brake kits seem to be fewer than for the later C4’s and Precision was one of the few sources I could find when I was looking to purchase aftermarket brakes. The kit was easy to install and the brakes seem to work fine. I am using Wilwood A compound pads. I think they are too aggressive, at least with my current tires. I can easily lock the front wheels with too much brake pedal pressure, even after the tires are warmed up. I think I will try the Wilwood H compound next.

If you still have the OEM master cylinder, have you done any
work with the bias spring?

A common upgrade is to switch to a spring available from DRM and VB&P.
C4 member CentralCoaster installed Wilwood calipers on his car a
few years ago and spent a good deal of time testing various springs
until he was satisfied. I do not recall him posting which springs
he tried and what he ultimately settled on, but I think he might be
open to assisting if someone approached him.

Slalom4me,

I have the DRM bias spring. I have read the post(s) from CentralCoaster you are referring too. It is something that I have considered as well. Thanks for the tip.

Precision Brakes used to sponsor the racecar and did a C4 kit for me that used the big 4 pots up front and a C5 rotor. all for about $750 and the rotors were stock $25 models not $350 ea GTs
