Michelin Pilot Cup Thoughts ?
Are Pilot Cups for real race tires or just another expensive "performance tire.
What I mean is how do they stack up to Proxie RA-1 , V700 or Hoosiers R6
C6Z have very few choices but I think the make the Cup and R6 for the stock size.
I still plan on running them on the street from time to time to drive to and from some autocrosses.
Thanks

They are similar to RA1s on the track but take longer to heat up. I would have to run them back to back to be sure but I think the RA1s have the slight edge but the Cups last even longer than RA1s.
You will hate them for autocross because they don't heat up fast.

a lot harder then RA1s, Cup tires are more of an endurance tire. If you want lots of grip for auto-x may want to look at other tires.
Once they get heat into them they run very well for a long time.

For autocrossing in the Pacific Northwest almost all the cars run 710's, and the drivers up here do VERY well in the nationals. The one guy I've seen on the pilots went that way becuase he got a killer deal, and is TRYING to wear them out so he can get the Kuhmos.
I've always wondered how big a compromise the 700's are for guys that need to drive to an autocross. I don't care about wet traction, just don't want to ruin the tires if I drive 100 miles each way for the five minutes of course time.

V700
I have the V700 on my Cobra and I think they are sticky as hell but I have never run the 710s
I would say the held the course as good as my RA-1s but they were full tread depth and I purchased the V700 shaved.
When you get them shaved there isn't much tread left to begin with. I'm not sure if I would order them that way again but a couple of guys told me they wear very inconsistent if you don't.
Still have a little life after 4 Track days, 2 or 3 Autocross and about 1000 Street miles.
Unfortunatly no Kumhos or Toyo in 325/30/19 or any other 19" according to the web pages for each.
