An inexpensive, accurate track data system
Check out the MaxQData's MQGPS Bluetooth track data system.
I bought one of these and a bluetooth iPAQ PDA on eBay and I've got a nice track data system. The Flight app records 5Hz GPS data and has practically unlimited memory (8 GB CF memory cards cost ~$170). The Graph app provides very nice analysis on both PDA and PC.
This beats all the other 'amatuer' track data systems I've seen offered.
If you don't have good data on what you are doing on the track it's hard to know where you are and what to work on.

So are you basically getting a printout of all g forces or can it be correlated to laptimes; do you get laptimes? I have Gtech Pro and it falls in the other catagory you mentioned.

You get track maps with detailed analysis of parameters at any point. There is a QView mode that visually maps acceleration, braking, lateral acceleration and speed in a visual representation of a lap. You can add virtual track beacons so you not only get lap times but accurate segment times.
