Default Toyo Pressure question

I'm running Toyo RA1's and wanted to know what if at all is the best pressure to run those tires at. I ran Car Guys last weekend and hot pressures were 38 & 39 psi. Car handled good but from some of the track guys that I spoke with they say that might be a bit low. Any suggestions??

It really depends on how aggressive your alignment settings are. If you are running negative camber say in the 2-5 range you can use less pressure. For me, I run about -1.25 to -1.5 camber up front and -.75 to -1 out back and 38 to 40 psi hot seems to be ideal for me on RA1. I get a little outside shoulder wear on the front tires but, that is to be expected unless I go up to ~ -3 degree of camber.

I've found the RA-1s to get slick/greasy if they get above about 40 psi hot. Therefore you need to bleed them down depending on your conditions. For autox I run 35f/31r, COLD. If I'm going to a DE I'll probably drop down a bit from that.

HTH, and have a good one,
Mike

hot pressures about what you describe - what that the pressure after cool-down and coming into the pits, or immediately after a hot lap?

Immediatly after hot laps. I was debating adding some to bump it up to 40 psi but the car handled very well so I was wondering if it's worth it or not??

I'd say you're in the green zone. You could play with it a couple of psi, but I think you're right where you want to be.

Have a good one,
