Another Great Day at Roebling
Jake, Josh and I had another great day at Roebling last Friday (20 Oct 2006) with SeatTime. We were a little pushed to get everything ready due to school, work and the time since the last event but we made do with the time we had. It was really nice that the school system gave them Friday off to boot. It was the first trip for the trailer since "the fire" so I was a little bit focused on trailer condition all the way there and back. But like track tires and brakes all it takes is money to make it all better.
I convinced Marvin to bring his S2000 all the way down from DC for the event. The poor guy then got me as his instructor. It was a great day for the participants (13 or so total I think) but a little tough on Jon as far as making the payroll. We had glorious weather, no track incidents at all and plenty of open track. Almost too open - it is more fun chasing down your buddies then having an empty track at times.
Jake had 2006 Mustang GT and Tom in his 88 Mustang as his students. Yep, this is the same Tom who lunched an engine last Saturday at CMP. Now there is a guy with a track habit I have to admire. He hauls it back to Atlanta on Sunday from CMP with a dead engine and down to Savannah on Thursday with another engine to run at Roebling on Friday. When I asked how much that set him back he said "I dunno" his mechanic has not figured it out all that I owe him for the suspension and engine work. Like I said, my kind of guy. We did assist Tom with a small water leak as the day went on - what a great guy.
Jake did hold out on me about his "tip" though - he seemed to think I would want a percentage or something. The ZO6 ran great on the used Nitto RII's in back and dead Kumho Mxs on the front . It turned a 1:22 or so with that combo and we were not able to exit that well from Turn 8 due to the lack of grip. Marvin did great in his S2000 and took it home totally intact, Josh got some passenger time in the ZO6 and Lynn's Ford Fiesta, and Jake's students also did great. Matter of fact, I think Josh will drive the Fiesta for his first track event next year.
Now all we have to do is get ready for the NCM event next Friday at CMP.....

Hey Jeff,
I signed up for the 18-19 Nov. with Chin. I saw you and Jake on the list. Are you staying in the Trailer Hotel and Casino? If so, is there any vacancy?

Roebling and Atlanta are 2 tracks that I would like to to run at. A few of us down here in south fl have been talking about going up to Roebling. CHIN Motorsports will be running there on Nov 19 but thats too soon for me to schedule and I'm leaving out of town on Nov 20th. I would luv to get up sometime in 2007. Will have to wait for CHIN's 2007schedule and see when

I did May with Chin and we are instructing again in Nov for Chin - May weather is pretty good usually.

I'll be at the Nov 18 & 19 events with my dad as a passenger in his blue '02 Z06. Looking forward to meeting you guys then. I got to drive this track a few months ago, looking to see how it differs with the new pavement. I got a best of 1:21 when I got to drive. I may have met some of you then.

Would someone like to post a link to the Nov event with Chin? I might be in the area and would like to burn alittle rubber.
Thanks,

www.seat-time.com is to run on Friday - he has some openings.
Chin Motorsports should pop it up on a search for Sat and Sun - there may be some late drops due to changes - some categories were already full last time I looked
