HPDE tires
I'm kinda tired of changing tires for the events. r tires for dry, street tires for rain, you know the deal.
I run victor racers so their good for dry and act as intermediate rains. but after they wear down, they are no longer good in the rain....
so I'm thinking of more of a street tire with deeper tread. maybe kumho MX's can act as a dual tire.....?
there must be a better solution for us who don't need every split second, and would rather relax some in between sessions..

I don't have personnal experience with these yet but I was looking at the Toyo RA1's. Here's a link to an article on them.

I work for Kumho tire in the Motorsports Division and I would recommend the MX's. I use them for our ride and drive programs and they work very well for street,track days and rain. The price is right too on these through the TireRack or a local dealer near you.

What is the recommended hot inflation pressure for the Victoracers? Can the tire be dismounted and rotated from side to side to maximize wear? Can you reverse rotation? Is that splice induced tear that runs horizontal across the tire a normal occurance. These were used scrubs that I bought and refurbished(Traction V Treated.) I thought they ran great when I took them out last week.

Hot pressures should be no more than 40! Ideal would be around 35 hot! Yes you can flip these and run them either direction. I did at Mid-Ohio this year and they worked just fine. As far as the horizontal line, that is where the splicing process comes together and we have had no problems. I know that it doesnt look pretty, but you can run them.
P.S What size are you running and what year Corvette and mods?

larryfs, I've never graduated to DOT-R's and am still running street tires
after almost 4 years on track. But I've driven on full race slicks in open
wheel cars and I'm guessing that if like me you never left street tires
on the Vette they do ok, but if you've had better going back will come
up short somehow. Not only less grip on corners but less braking as
well. I run the Kumho MX's and think they do a great job for the price.
That was after going through the original run flats on my coupe, then
trashing some Michelin PS run flats in just a couple days and switching
to a set of Z06 wheels for track days. That led to about 3 sets of GY
super car OEM tires and then decided to cut cost some and ended with
the MX's for the past two years. They go about as fast as I'm ready
for.

Aaron great to see a Kumho rep here. I have the V710s and have a slit across the tire I guess now reading the comments here that is the splice line.
Is there a problem with running the tire with the splice line? It made me nervous so I bought a new set, but if it is common for the tire then I will continue to use them and just watch the slit....

I've used the MXs for daily driving, AutoXing, and track days. They're not 710s by any means, but a great all-around tires and the price is great for those of us that tend to use up tires pretty quickly.
