Introducing the new LG Motorsports World Challenge wheel
Hi guys,
This is our new LG World Challenge wheel that we are having produced exclusively for us.
This is our own split 5 spoke wheel similar to a Fiske Profile 5, Forgeline SP3p, CCW and HRE.
The design parameter was to make a light weight 5 spoke wheel. We chose a pressure cast method just like the factory Z06 wheels.
We also needed to keep the price reasonable while still keeping LG Motorsports quality that we strive for.
We are taking "Pre Orders" with shipping expected right around the first of the year (10-12 weeks). We will strive to expidite this but we don't want to over-promise and under-deliver.
They will be available at first in only 18 x 10 fronts and 19 x 11 rears to fit the C6. you can fit from a 295 to a 325 rear tire (325 shown in photo) but the 325 is probably the outer limit on rear size and either 265 or 275 front tire.
Introductory Pricing: $1995 for the complete set polished as shown.
We will take a 50% deposit to guarantee deliver and a spot on the list. The first order quantity will be limited, so place your order to take advantage of this great price for a high quality wheel option.
C6 version is the first one, then C6 Z06, then C5 wheels.
Call us for info
thanks

Sorry for not getting the center cap on straight

THey can be coated in black or other colors after the first run.
When we build the Z06 wheel fitment, they will fit the big brakes but not on the C6 version.
They are built to the same specs as the stock wheels.
We have had the "G2 World Challenge" wheel name and the "LG World Challenge" wheel name trademarked since 1995. It has no affiliation with anything.
Thanks

Our wheel does fit in the wheel well. the wheel is more like the HRE Split 5 spoke wheel but in a one piece casting rather than a 3 piece.
This IS the wheel that you will be getting. This is a Pressure cast wheel built just like the factory wheels are.
this is the first sample of the EXACT wheel that we will be selling. If anything it is more like the HRE wheel than anything.
John makes a quality wheel and we will continue to sell CCW wheels as well as HRE, Fikse, and Forgeline. In fact Forgeline sponsors our race car wheels.
And in fact, Forgeline was instrumental in helping us produce our original wheel (G2 World Challenge wheel) back in the mid 90s.
There was a price gap in the wheels that are available for the Corvette Market. You could spend either $1200 or $3000 plus (HRE=$5000).
So we picked the popular spoke design and had a one piece pressure cast wheel built that can be priced at $1995.
We don't plan on building any wheels for any other cars besides the Corvette or any other GM car that the fitments spill over to.
Thanks,
Lou Gigliotti.

Good lookin' rims !!!!!
What's the weight for 17x10 and 17x11? I'm always looking for lightweight rims.

The 5 spoke wheel (and it's 10 spoke variants) has been played out. I'm sure there are dozens of vendors who can all argue that someone else copied their design. Let's face it, it's a basic star shape.
I'm not as fascinated with wheels as many folks are. The slight variations are a very personal choice. These are unique because of the LGM stamp, not the shape. So if you prefer to do busines with LGM as your first choice. They now offer something they call their own, just like CCW, HRE, etc... Nothing wrong with that.

I will take a photo of the rear of the wheel that will show the "leav outs" that they use in a Pressure casting.
It turns out that the Split 5 Spoke is a nice looking spoke design that many manufacturers have used.
But any of the manufacturers can put any spoke design in their wheels that they want and we went with the HRE Spoke but not their wheel completely. These are the first article of the Pressure cast wheels that are being cast now.
I guess the problem is that every split 5 spoke looks similar but none of them are the same.

Hi Guys,
There have been some questions about the fitment and if the tires stuck out.
So I just took some photos from the top view with 285 rear tires, and 275 fronts
LG
Here they are:

This would eliminate alot of the speculation that has been occuring............
I am with Chris, what do the wheels weigh ???? Us racers need to know. I am assuming that they are pretty light as are the factory wheels.
Those wheels sure do look good............but I have always been a "sucker" for blue cars with pretty wheels. Car jewelry, thats what I like to call it.
Are they going to be strong enough to compete on with current DOT or non-DOT race tires, or are these meant for the street ???

The front 10" wheels weigh 23.2 and the rear 11" weigh 24.2 +/-
They have gone through all the street testing that a factory wheel goes through to be certified. just like almost every other wheel for these cars.
Thanks
