Sebring 30 & 31 Dec with Chin
The signup is open for Sebring Dec 30/31 with Chin. SCCA course on Saturday and 12 hour course on Sunday
Who else is going? It is a 10 hour pull for us but the timing is good!

Thinking about it. More like 12-13 hour pull for us, but I have always wanted to run Sebring. I will probably wait and be a late registrant and hope to get lucky.

I'll be doing the 12 hour course on Sunday. We'll just be hanging out on Saturday if you need an extra hand for your pit crew or a gohper, unless I win the lottery then I can sign up for both days.

I'm thinking about doing just Sunday, having decided Roebling just isn't in the cards this month, new pavement or no.
Having just taken delivery on the C6 2 weeks ago today, I'm still working on things like harnesses (nice but not mandatory), spare rotors (stupid drilled left-only Z51 OEMs still on the car), better pads (melted and destroyed a set of stock C5 pads and rotors there in June), but even if none of that comes together I think this car needs to be rewarded with some play time soon!
(edit) OK, I should've said more play time or maybe specified track time (see avatar pic).
Anybody done an event there at that time of year that can compare temps? I've only done Memorial Day and late June, so for me Sebring has always been about watching oil temp closely and cooking the brakes.

I am planning to go as well. Note the first day is on club course, and second day on full course.
I'm pretty sure that you would melt brakes and cook oil at sebring even if the temps were in the 30s, but it should be much warmer than that so plan accordingly, as I'm sure everyone will get as much time as their ve-hickles can handle.

I ran it in May with the FRC - oil temps hit 315 and I ate up some brake pads.....tires last great though...
We will only be bringing down one car....

Hotels?
I am looking for hotels down there and the Holiday Inn Express is full.
The track hotel is pretty pricey and nowhere near a decent restaurant...not even sure if it has rooms anymore.
Where is everyone staying?
I have stayed at the Kenilworth (sic) - it is not bad for an old hotel - not sure if they have any rooms either.....
Any tips?

Quick update - I'm there! (we're arriving Sat. and staying just the one night at Chateau Elan)
My friends Bob and Lisa will also be running Sunday in their way-cool Ford GTX1 for it's first time on track.
Can't wait, and I'm hoping Santa brings me my Racemesh grill and maybe some other toys in time!

Chicanes restaurant at the Inn On The Lakes is great. Get some tire treads for an appetizer. Don't bother eating at the restaurant at the Château Élan (Sheratan Four Points now).
