Default Corvettes in Super GT (JGTC Series)

An article about the JGTC (Japanese Grand Touring Car) series
led me to see whether Corvettes were participating.

As far as I can tell, no one is running a Corvette in 2006, but the
A&S Racing team campaigned a C6-R (or possibly a re-bodied C5?)
under two different sponsorships, K-Stadium Advan and Fields Advan.
(A&S also races a Mosler MT900R which made appearances in both '05
& '06.)

Same car, different livery

The Super GT cars employ a lot of technology. A fair number of
cars fill the grids and spectator levels are high. JGTC is a healthy series.

What's interesting to me is Racecar Engineering ponders changes
to increase manufacturer particpation at Le Mans by opening GT
regulations to allow JGTC GT500 cars "or possibly even adopting the
Super GT regulations in their entirety."

A member of Dome, the company that works with the Honda Super GT
team, does not think a current S-GT car could last the duration of a
24-hr race. However, when asked "whether the Dome-Honda NSX
GT-500 cars could lap faster than an Aston Martin DBR9 or a Corvette
C6-R, his response was simple - 'Easy...' "

As a point of reference for that last remark, Racecar Engineering
mentions elsewhere in the article that "Europe's fastest GT - the
Maserati MC12 - failed to cut it in GT500 when 2004 Le Mans winner,
Team Goh, attempted to run one in the series. It simply wasn't fast
enough." What's a Maserati MC12 look like? Here is Frank Mountain's
driven in the snow.
