Default Temporary spray on "bra" - Duplicor Shield

Has anyone heard of this or used it with any success?

http://www.autobarn.net/duplicolor-spray-on-bra.html

The searches I did do not give much detailed info.

"Shield, from Dupli-Color, provides temporary spray-on protection for your vehicle where bugs and road grime can do damage. It’s ideal for the front end, rear quarter panel and rocker panels.

Spray on Shield as a temporary bra for long road trips, quick mud flaps or as a bug guard. Shield sprays on easily and dries in less than a minute. And best of all, it stays on until you wash it off. You can power wash it off or use soap and water. Rain, snow or moisture in the air won’t affect it. This product leaves no residue on a vehicle’s paint. Give your vehicle the protection that it deserves with Shield."

I am thinking that will not work against the kind of little rocks and pebbles we see at the track. It probably works for bugs and things like that...I would imagine a pebble impacting it at 100mph, would cut right through it

If it protected against pebbles and other track garbage I'd take a case!!

I've got a can and tried it on just a small section to test.
It would take SEVERAL coats to protect against track hazards.

Just have not had the gumption yet to really try it on the entire front of the car. I think it would be great for traveling against bugs etc.

I can tell you to use it in a well ventilated area. If you did it in a closed garage, you could blow your friggin house up

I haven't used this particular product but I've used the competitors stuff. Optigloss is endorsed by Rusty Wallace and Dale Earnhardt Jr. They make a product called Serious Shine. It's also the same stuff you find under the YachtBrite brand. It works great but it's not intended to keep from getting rock chips. It's great for road trips. You spray it on the front of the vehicle and when you get to your destination covered with bugs that you normally can't chisel off, they'll wipe right off and leave a great shine. It's primarily a detailing product for putting a quick shine after a wash.

That sounds really good. Not in-expensive, but a heck of a lot less than a re-paint every year or two.

Has anyone tried this, or know someone who has?

I've used it before, not at the track, just on a trip cross country. It works good to keep off bugs and such, I don't think it would keep off rocks and track debris, but then, that's not a problem since we never go off road, right? (I wish!). Washes right off with a high pressure spray...

there is that 3M clear bra and wheel well adhsive plus for the rocker pannels. Looked OK but still got dirt on the edges and stones still chipped it.

I think most ppl just drive.
