Yeah, I have had a Dart aluminum SB chevy hanging around from some time and waiting for $10,000 of parts est'd at 700 HP with a real nice torque band. Not even as nice heads as those 12* though. Maybe space was at a premium with the LS7, don't know why they couldn't have made it a little bigger. Still, it's enough to handle as it is.

Place is a few minutes from my house.
I'll have to go check'em out. So if I built a 700 RWHP motor how long does the rest of the car last, if I don't kill myself beforehand. I thought someone had a 500 CI block coming?

Why bother with the warhawk, when GM is taking care of us. 4.25 bore 4.5 stroke.

LSX block was engineered to handle up to 2,500 horsepower

GM is still putting the old big blocks 502ci in their heavy duty trucks, I wonder if they're thinking of replacing them

embarassing to whom?

A lot of the exotic engine combos go like stink for a few laps then they start having "issues"....

I kind of like lapping the big cube cars personally.

But it sure does hurt when you exit a corner great and are pulling as hard as the car will go and a car goes by you like you are pulling a trailer...

You got that right Jeff. Our ol LSx motors are so reliable compared to many other motors. I think our LSx motors are reliable to the point we complain that we dont have to tear them down and do a rebuild.

I was on the Corvette racing wed site the day and noticed the comparisons between engines. http://www.corvetteracing.com/cars/c...ne_specs.shtml

The LS7.r block had a 4.180 bore and 4.180 stoke. That = 458.8 ci

with 590 BHP and 640 FT TQ.

I sent a PM to Jason at Katech to see what he says.

Edit: Jason said it was a typo. Stroke is 3.875.
