Best wheels for ZR1 autocrossing?
I bought a ZR1 yesterday instead of an Elise or the Z06 since I couldn't decide. I'm now interested in the best wheel sizes to use on it for autocrossing - it's got the stock 17's but I'm wondering if 18s are better and/or if I shoud go wider in the front.
I could swear I saw a few guys post in the past who race their ZR1 - so if anyone's reading this who is confident in their ZR1 setup, I'd love to hear what you use for wheels.
Also SCCA class doesn't matter - this car is racing next summer in no class clubs.
Thanks!

It's getting hard to find 315/35 street tires that will provide good traction. You may have problems finding bigger 11" wheels with the 38mm offset for the back but if you go with race rubber like Hoosiers or Kumho's, you can use the stock wheel.
Hoosier does have a selection of 17" A6 tires sizes in 315 and 335/35 as well as a selection of 18's.
I have seen C4's use a 315/35 tire in the front wheelwell with the aftermarket GS-style 11" rear wheel that uses a 50mm offset.
The GM wheel is fairly light and will take autocross abuse.
BTW, you will want to add a R-D Racing Camber Brace for the front. It works great to stiffen the front of the car and they have a ZR-1 specific bar that installs easily.
If you are going to keep the FX3 shocks, Bilstein will rebuild them and even has an autocross-specific valving for them Call (800) 537-1085 in Poway, CA (near San Diego) and ask for Jack French or Bill Hindorf.
Doug Rippie Motorsports used to have FX3 controllers that used replacable chips that you could get with specific programming. Simply swap the chip for the course or setting you want.

I've got CCW 18x12's in the front and 17x12's in the back with 335's on all 4 of my LT1 powered C4.

There's another forum member with a Z that's running 335's on all 4. At the NCCC nationals there were Z's running 345's out back.

17x11 ZR1/GS wheels work very well on the 315x4 setup as well.
