Varkwso or TimZ06 can probably give you a good idea on this one. If they dont chime in,, drop them a PM. Good luck at the track, be safe

I qual'd at a 1:32.7 with a full T1 set up and race in the 1:33s-35s. I'd say that if you can get out of the 40s and break down into the 30s, you should feel pretty good about yourself.

Don't kill yourself trying to do that though - just get good, consistent laps and the times will come down. Good luck and have a blast - RA is my 2d favorite track (VIR is #1).

Stock 01 z06 with victoracers or the like, I have been timed at 1:40.x but never timed in the 1:30's... At 1:40 I am usually the fastest close to stock car at panoz sundays or close to it.

Tim is very quick in a stock Z06 ( or firecracker)
. come on down and say hello will be there for Sat & Sun in Quicksilver 01 Z06. You can't miss the big black truck with blue flames.

Chris' advice is very on target as usual , don't get greedy on the back at turn 6&7 slowly find your limits. and 12 is almost religious

That is because Tim has absolutely no sense of mortality and really knows RA!

And no one can miss Glenn's truck .....

I wish I could get in the 1:30s there....deep down inside I must be scared or something...

a few more times from the Nov SCCA ARC race
http://www.atl-scca.org/Atl%20SCCA/R...df/Gp6RACE.pdf

Richard Grant of Germantown TN in a 2002 Corvette in the SPO class 1:27:089

Crag Gallston of Raleigh NC in his TCC C5 Corvette 1:34:535

Looks like a darn fast class.

Grants car is a Trans AM vette.(tube frame)...so not a good comparison
I have run 1:35's in my T1 car (2002 Z06) ...Ingle is always faster, his times are pretty much untouchable.
I have run 1:32's in my SPO 2001 Z06.
If you can break into the 1:39's you are doing something.

Good to see you there. I remember you saying you were running some great times.

Had a blast as I got to drive a IS350 for a session. Thanks boss! I think we were both timed in the 1:53s. Not bad for a stock 4 door.

Hey man, I'm the guy that was there with the silver z06 and the black lexus. I didn't realize we knew each other when I posted on this thread.

Hope you had fun, and btw, do you have any lt1 engine parts you want to get rid of? I am going to start rebuilding my camaro motor.

Tim

Good to meet some more Corvette folks there. Sorry, still trying to match up the screen names with people - will get it right soon Was busy troubleshooting some AH/ABS problems Saturday and found a warped rear rotor Sunday morning but it didn't cause me to miss much. And then some of my wife's friends showed up Sunday so I didn't have as much time to hang out and chat.

Just to satisfy my curiosity, wife timed me at 1:46.1 as my best lap Sunday. Wasn't very consistent at all depending on the traffic in the B-group. Was trying to be very gracious and wait for the point-by but some folks even after two passing zones gone wouldn't give it up....rather frustrating but what can you do..

Gotcha Baby steps my friend. Never too concerned about times before -- just had an observer with a stopwatch handy. Plenty more learnin' to do but it was good to get a baseline knowledge of my times.

See ya next time

I race a SV650 with WERA. I live 15 minutes from Road Atlanta, so I have no excuse for missing stuff that is going on out there.

Anything in 1:30's is cooking nicely.

Also means you have a full roll cage or no fear of wrecking your nice car. Alot of concrete around that track.

I personally run 2-3 seconds slower then normal there compared to other tracks (benchmark against other drivers) in my street car.

Reese *** with MTI just turned a 1:29 there in his "project" Zo6. Last time I saw it, it still had full interior etc. See MTIracing.com
