I would say C5 Z06 or C6 Z51 with 295 hoosiers and T1 or pfatty bars. Taking you to 19 mod points. Looking forward to hearing other opinions. The C6 Z51 will be TTA* legal in the revision for 07.

I would use those two points on a little more tire if possible instead of bars. Bushings and flywheels are free and will make a difference.

I wish they would let me run 275 up front and 315 in the rear for a average of 295...

One advantage of using Hoosiers. They meauser a bit wider then what the sidewall is printed

What alignment for the track that will also see street duty?

What pads? Which Hawk Race pads HT-10?

The right driver in a Caymen S (TTB base) and 39 mod points would be pretty stiff competition for stock C5Z's. On paper it looks good...

I will forecast that the TTA winners will, more than likely be, TTB or maybe even TTC cars modded up to TTA that do not require a lot of tire to stick. Caymen S, Evo and STi are at least three I can think of - 255 is a lot/enough of tire under them. Have not looked at the TTC cars that much.

I did look to see what the competitor cars would be to my wife's GTO (TTC*) - as if she will let me track it .... it has a stock size of 245 and not much bigger will even fit. So track tires and bars will be the the thing to do for that barge.....plus the much needed free bushings and it will stay in TTC.

the cayman s hauls in stock config already...light weight, I think they weigh in at 2900ish from the factory (could be wrong).

The rules seem fair MINUS the tire rule...the tire rule should be based off the stock factory sized tire...running 255's on a stock c5 would be a joke. I guess it really boils down to gaining speed in the corners. I think suspension mods would be the best/first thing to look at - forget the 315 sized tires...i ran 295's forever on my c5 z06 (stock) and have been clocked sub 210's at VIR. I bet with the right suspension setup, you can get the same, if not more, tire contact with a 295 tire then a 315. hell, i bet you would be surprised what a 275 tire would do too!
