Default 315's on all four on a 94

I'm moving up to 710's from Victoracers this year and am considering running 315s on all four corners as well. Is there any real advantage to this? The car is not street driven at all but sees a decent amount of auto-x (at least two weekends per month with two drivers) with two or three high speed events per year.

My concern is that I have heard some people say that the bigger fronts slow down the turn in response during low speed events. I also heard that it's harder on the PS pump although I have my doubts about that.

While I'm asking, what would be good pressures to start out with? I would assume the 710's are different than Victoracers.

Thanks.

the two advantages of running 315x4 is that it takes the "push" out of the car and you can rotate the tires around all 4 corners to lengthen tire life any one who says that they slow stearing are talking from a theory point of veiw both my c4 and especially my c5z turn better and faster with 315x4 710's air press start at 27# you can go as low as 25# @ 32-34 hot seams to work for me

I run 315's on all four corners in my '89. The problem that I have is the two fronts rub the hood on hard corners. The car has been lowered 1 inch all around. I have this problem really bad at places like Rockingham coming out of turn 3 onto the straights, I don't have the problem at autoctosses.

GO for it. I have been running them on our 95 with no rubbing for years. I have noticed over time that it might be a little more harsh on the power steering system, or that could be my worn out car. Thats my favorite setup and it handles GREAT! Thats also with the 11 inch wheels all the way around which i assume you meant. On the front I have also tried the 315 on the 9.5 inch rim which works but tire life is much shorter because of more rollover.

We used to run 315's on the front and 335 on the back with the 710's. The backs rubbed a bit but not bad. The 315x4 is by far the way to go for a balanced car. with the A mold afs wheels and 315's at all 4 corners we don't rub on our 86. The Hoosier 315's seem to be a bit bigger than the Kuhmo. I think the turn-in is going to be more dependant on your alignment not your tire. Between the 295 on the front and the 315 i cannot tell a diffrence on turn in. Have fun!

I'm currently running 335's on all 4. With a 1200 lb front spring and a 1/2 in. hood clearance. I couldn't be happier with the turn in response. As for pressure, 710's like it low,30 front 26 rear is where I like to start. Have run as low as 20/16 on a cold day.

Another with 335's on on 4, love it. The big tire up front really help with braking an turn-in.
