Porsche has those things for the ceramic brakes so they don't chip the rotors when mounting a new wheel. Pretty good idea.

They would definitely make putting 17x11 AFS wheels on much easier. I wonder if Jim is going to start making them. Seems like he got a real good initial response.

also good to keep the rotor on when working around the car. I use a lug now because I am afraid the rotor will come off and hit me....

The tool just slips over the thread of the wheel stud. It seemed like too much work to screw it on/screw it off for the short amount of time it is in use. It also would add a bunch of time to the manufacture of it for me.
