Default 2006 GP Masters at Silverstone is just starting

11:00 AM MST here and SPEED is about to show the F1 oldtimers
as they work their magic around Britain's Silverstone circuit.

Wow. In the wet.

No traction control, no pitstops, just brave pills and skill.

Mansell started but his diff failed on the way to the grid. He
pitted 2-3 times for adjustments to compensate but eventually
retired.

After about 15 laps, Van de Poele and Cheever ran away from
everyone else. They had great dices but Cheever proved dominent.

Hans Stuck used some wild lines to get up to and keep fourth. I
kept thinking about that video of him on the Nurburgring.

So when is Michael Schumacher eligible ?

Man, I wish I could have had that programmed in to record; Speed doesn't even show a scheduled rerun.

Any idea when/if any other GP Masters races are going to be shown?

Have a good one,
Mike

I'm afraid I do not know the schedule - catching today's race
was a fluke.

SPEED only lists this one event under the GP Masters label in their
event schedule. Sad that they hold the franchise

There might be something on the GP Masters site. I have disabled
Adobe Flash on this machine and get an empty field on the Events
page that might have some info.

Best I can guess this was run back in August, from their website.

Bummer.

Hard to find time to slot in programming like GP Masters and the
like when there are marathon sessions of Pinks and Unique Whips
reruns to broadcast.

Just got back from being out of town for a week. I found that I have the Masters on DVR. Anyone know how to record off the DVR onto a loptop??

I imagine it would be similar to recording from a video camera.
Some kind of Firewire connection and Roxio, Nero or similar
video editing software to capture the input into a file on disc.

However, the actual event is about 40+ minutes - this would
probably result in a fairly sizable file.
