Running Autocross tommorow in my 93 C4, tips?
I have a auto, 3.75 geared base suspension upgraded with ZO7 sway bars, urethane bushing, and Blstein heavy duty shocks. The car was just aligned with VB&P aggressive street alignment, and I have 275 17 BFG KD's up front and 315 BFG KD's out back.
The car also has Camber bar, and RD Racing ST frame. ANy thing that could help me enjoy the day, let me know. Steve

slow is smooth and smooth is fast... when your out there just roll on the throttle, dont be harsh with your brakes and gas it will only slow you down, or make you spin out. also run it slow the first few times, which was very difficult for me to do, it will pay off huge after you learn how that sea of cones is set up, it gets confusing out there, lastly, have a blast, its some of the most fun i have ever had!

The Vette Brakes and Products alignment specs
I looked to review what rear toe setting is called for in the
Advanced Street settings - they specify 1/8". If this is how
the shop has set the car, then there shouldn't be too much
incidence of snap oversteer in maneuvers combining heavy
braking just prior to turning in.
I found that as I reduced the rear toe, this increased the tendency
of the car to come around. On the alignment rack, we observed
that raising the rear (as occurs under braking) causes the toe
setting to change in the direction of toe out. If you are not
expecting it, the results can be unnerving or worse.
Have you added engine oil to raise the level above the fill line?

Depending on the layout of the track and the speeds it allows you might:
* Walk the track in reverse prior to the event starting
* On your first run, run slower than "competitive mode" and mark your brake points & get a feel of the flow of the track.
* Be smooth but aggressive - your car can do more than you think
* Watch your tire pressures - check after every run & adjust.
* Visit with the other racers - learn what you can from them
* ABOVE ALL - JUST HAVE FUN!

My friend has a 1993 C4 corvette he autocross. Make sure you have plenty of gas, his will fuel starve when he runs the fuel to low. This happens in fast turns, where the fuel moves away from the pickup. Have fun.
