c6 z06 in SCCA Solo2 SS, 2007 rules
Was expecting the C6 Z06 to be allowed in SCCA Solo2 SS class starting this year, but the the new 2007 rules book lists it as both allowed (in appendix A, car classifications) and excluded (in the preamble to appendix A).

I would guess that still listing it in the exclusions was an oversight, and that it is allowed.

Safety Car
I think the extra rubber will help it more than the extra power. At a local Corvette autox last year the C6s (Z and non-Z) were classed into Performance Evaluation (PE) and when the track was slippery and just coming in during the first couple of run groups the Z's extra 140mm of stock rubber versus my stock rubber sure seemed to help it a lot. I couldn't put down all my power due to lack of grip, so I'm sure the extra power wasn't what was helping the guys in the C6Z.

During competition in several auto X in 06, including some high speed events, the C5 Zs did very well against their newer counterpart. I could be that the C5Z drivers had more seat time than the newer C6Z, but I know one owner of a new C6Z had driven a C5Z for the past 3 seasons & he was no rookie. In this racing venue, the standard C6 and C5Z were classed together in '05 but seperated in '06 due to the C5Z's dominance.
