Default Kirkey Seat Mounting

after having sat in some of the seats i was thinking about, i think the kirkey (intermediate road race) is going to be best both for fitment and budget reasons. so, who knows how to mount these things in the car? im trying (as much as i probably wont be able to) to mount these in an adjustable manner since i usually have 1-2 co-drivers and they are usually much different in size than me. are there sliders available that function decently and are safe? who supplies seat mountings (other than hardbar, i found their mounts already) that might work for these seats? any info or leads would be great. thanks,
lane

The only hting that Kirkey offers is the seat mount that attaches to the roll cage. Jegs offers an adjustable mount that works well. I ended up fabricating my own, but I'm the only one that drives the car.

Never heard of anything readily available for those seats on sliders. You can have something fabbed up but it gets $$$$$$$$. I made my own staitionary mounts. That was before Hardbar had them. If you use stock sliders you usually lose a ton of head room.

Speedware Motorsports makes mounts for side mounted race seats with sliders. It's about $300 a side. I've got them for my Sparco Evo and can't see why they wouldn't work for any other type of side-mounted seat.

Click Sig and go to my links page.

We make the best seat rails, why mess around? Used by everyone who is competitive! Sliders don't work, they cost real estate either in headroom or width and allow slop.

You do have to call them, but they either had it on the shelf ready to go or made it the same day. The setup I've got is a base and generic siderails made by speedware and Momo Sliders. If you don't need the sliders the Garry's stuff is probably a little better (I know you can mount the seat lower), but if you're stuck needing/wanting adjustibility speedware or custom fabrication is about your only option.

I just got the Hardbar set up for my Kirkey Roadrace Deluxe. The set up seems very good. I'm not a fan of sliders in a track car and adjusting the seat shouldn't be to much trouble. Set it up for a compromise when you are sharing.

Email me if you want pictures when I'm done.

The long, flat bottom of the kirkey may bolt right onto the factory power tracks (or factory manual tracks) without any adapters. That is one of the benefits of aluminum seats, much more mounting flexibility. Get the seat in house and pull the stock one to compare.

Also look at Ultrashield seats, their road race line has nice shoulder supports as well as rib support, and are priced competitively. Ultrashield road race seats

I have an Ultra Shield on Hardbar mounts, and it's great! Somewhat cheap, espically compared to some of those expensive composite seats. Feels great, and I don't move around at all.

I'd suggest one stationary mount that fits the largest driver and then use foam blocks or pads on the seat bottom or on the back to adjust the seat for the smaller drivers.

I have ridden in a Z06 that had two Kirkey's mounted on stock GM C5 manual seat adjusters. They worked just fine. Big issue is price since they are hard to find at used parts dealers and you end up buying new.
