Default Sources for tires in Texas? Hitting up TWS next weekend!

I've done a few autox's but this will be my first time at a real HPDE. It's only a half-day event, but I'm really excited about it.

I was looking for a good set of tires. I've got an extra set of chrome wagon wheels if they are wide enough to put anything on. I was hoping there would be someone in the Houston area with some cheap scrubs. I saw several names of people in Dallas, but I don't really want to pay for shipping or drive all the way up there. If anyone has any deals (or good prices with shipping), let me know. I could possibly use a set of wheels, too. z06 or zr1's would be ideal.

Any other thoughts for a first timer; I've been reading the stickies.

PS - It's not that I expect to go that fast to need good tires, but I have a few patches on my street tires, and I'd feel more at ease on some in better shape. If you've got a source for Ecsta MX's or other decent tires I could mount on the wagons, I'd be more than willing to put that on as well.

Hey Steven, this is Chad from Tamscc. I assume you are talking about the MSC event next weekend. It is a 2 day event, so you get to drive for an entire day. You have to pass Benton I don't care what it takes, you HAVE to pass Benton.

I don't have any tires for you though.

Ryan,

What do you have in the 305/18's? I run VRL Hoosiers but you are very close to me.

The price is good but I wonder about the different sizes front to rear. I run the 305/30/18's all the way around (car does not push with this set-up). I'm not sure about the 285's. I also don't know anything about the GY's. How different from the VRL Hoosiers?
I would like to talk to you about them next week after the weather moves out of here. Call me next week at 512-658-7640.

I think they're a little too big for regular C5 wheels, but I've got some supercars just lying around if you or someone you know wants them. 265 - 17, 295 - 18

Check with the event chairperson, Bobby Archer might be there with his mobil store & will have the VLR 305's on the trailer for track side mounting. If not, Bobby has the tires at his facility north of TMS in Fort Worth.

Bobby sells the pre-raced VLR 305 x 18 for $50.00 each, you can pick your own.
