This is a good group. TONS of track time even if you don't want to do the time trial. They run track days for those of you with some experience. No instructors so don't do this as your first event. TONS of track time.
Did I say TONS of track time???

For the price, I will be there! Only downside is you need to flag for 1 hour. But this definately gives you a good perspective on things watching people take different lines and learing to use the flags, rather than react to them.
Time trial is also an interesting portion of the day!

willhaveC6,
One of our members actually got 300 miles of track time at our last north course event last year. Including a tire change and brake pad replacement. Crazy.

I ran once with CART and ran so long I became like a pendulum on the track in a trans until I looked down and the fuel was on empty. I can see how racers running long races just become robotic and get better laps. Was fun for sure. I never get enough tome at LRP so I would like to hit that for sure and a Pocono North.

Steve,
We (CART) have hosted other groups at our events before. If you have enough cars interested we can happily create a "special" class for them to run against each other in the time trial. Drop me a PM and we can work out the details.

John,
We've started doing something fun at the end of the day at the Pocono events for those who'd like to try it. We've started having team relays. We set up 5 teams of 5 cars each. We add up each team members best lap time and use that total to hanicap the start of the relay. Slowest team starts their first car first followed by the next slowest on up to the fastest team starting last. This puts five cars on the course each car does 5 laps and than comes in as he crosses the finish line his next teammate leaves for his 5 laps and so on till all 5 team members have completed their 5 laps for a team total of 25. First team to cross the finish line after doing it's 25 laps wins. There are never more than 5 cars on the course at once and passing is only allowed in the same designated passing zones we've been using all day so it stays safe but is fun and competitive. The toughest thing seems to being able to put together five people who can count to five on your team.
Having a lot of track time and being able to do a time trial and relay are the reason we cap entry at 50 for our Pocono events. We're not looking to make money just have fun. That is why we do this isn't it?
