Noise using OEM endlinks with T1 swaybars
Put the T1 bars on about a month ago. I decided to go with the OEM aluminum links to try and keep the noise down but am still getting a muted clunk across uneven pavement. Anybody else experience this? I am not concerned about zeroing out pre-load since the OEM links popped in without any problems once the bar mounts were tightened up.

I get a clunk with the ADDCO end-links and poly bushings from the bars I put on my '01 Tahoe. I just live with it. :-)
BTW, if the end-links slid in easy when at full droop doesn't that imply you will have pre-load when at ride height?

Preload can only be zeroed out with the suspension loaded (i.e. sitting on the wheels). I still wouldn't worry about it, just getting the ride height even left and right and the rake set (a little less than 1/2" measured at the front and rear cross members) will be close enough for most of us.
As far as the clunk goes, make sure the end links are torqued properly (55 lb-ft, IIRC). That's always eliminated it for me in the past.
HTH, and have a good one,
Mike

I did the sway bars with the car on a drive-on ramp, so suspension was at normal ride hight. I have the endlink nuts torqued to 53lb/ft, but I'll tighten them up to see if that will eliminate the clunk.

if the bars were installed with the car on a lift, then the end links are likely preloaded. They will attempt to balance themselves by sliding sideways, in some cases pushing them against the a-arm on one side.
Obviously with OEM links, you have no choice in the matter, but using those big bars gives you less clearance if they are close to the a-arms.
