Interesting site--- I used to autoX a 1969 Z/28 camaro way back in the dark ages. It seemed great then, but can not hold a candle to the Vette. Would love to have that car back now.

The site is the 411 Motor Speedway just south of Knoxville, TN. I used to put on events there for the SVT Cobra Mustang Club. To give you some idea that track layout allows an '04 Z06 to get into 3 gear on the straights and in second on the rest of the track. The best time ever run on that layout was and '03 Z06 with a 383 stroker and T1 suspension. He ran a 57 second run. Closest thing to a road course we had here. We had big plans for several events this year but the track owner has decided to convert it back to a DIRT track for $$$ reasons. I can't blame him but it is going to ---- not having this venue to run in. After running there parking lot AX just does not quite do it!

Those cars didn't exactly look like they just pulled off the showroom floor back in the day...I've got a 69' Camaro and you today you can buy coil over suspensions, 4 link rear ends, Wilwood or even C5 discs/rotors , and swap an LSx engine in with a T-56 just like our Vettes.
Vintage on the outside but with todays suspensions and drivetrains.
BTW: a pretty cool AutoX course. Not like the parking lot courses the SCCA sets up here where you can get out of 1st and get beat by Mini Coopers.
BTW2: That custom street Cuda in the burnout contest is being sold tonight at Barrett Jackson. It should bring in the hood of $500,000 unless the Sat nite crowd gets crazy, which they have in the past 2 years. It could go 7 figures easy if that happens. Not a lot of signature cars this year but already some have been near the $300k mark already.

These cars are bringing unbelievable money these days. I'm to the point now where I am going to restore my AAR Cuda and just put it away for retirement. You don't even want to drive the rare ones now. I wonder what a fully restored AAR cuda will sell for in the year 2030.

Dude, congrats on owning an AAR Cuda. get it restored, sell it and put the money in the bank...IMHO not sure how long this muslce car bubble will last...it's seems to just get bigger and bigger.
BTW: something weird going on with the quote function...

I used to own a '70 Challenger 383 RT/SE, man I wish I kept that car.
My brother had a '69 396 Camaro, and a '68 GTO.
All worth some big bucks now.

In real life (not Barrett-Jackson) Your E body 383 RT/SE would be worth about $45-55K today, the 69' Camaro about $30-50k depending on stuff, and the 68' goat about $25-35k.

Here is a video of my first time out with my c4 at the autocross with the Houston bmwcca, my buddy took aerial footage with his gopro drone.
The car was on kuhmo run flats that sucked and the car has some kinks to work out with it's horrible oversteer.
