Default HPDE Rim Question

Thinking about buying a set of rims for HPDE. What would be the best sizes to buy and why?

I would suggest C4 GS wheels in either 17x9.5/17x11 or 17x11 all around so you can buy used tires from the T1 guys.

There's been a bunch of threads about this subject, but if you're on a budget, it's hard to beat the T1 setup: 17x10s up front and 17x11s on back. You can pick up used wheels and tires and get lots and lots of good, cheap seat time. They're light, bulletproof, and obviously fast.

If you've upgraded your brakes to Brembos or something like that, you'll have to go to 18" wheels...which are obviously more expensive...as are the tires.

OEM 18" MAG wheels on all 4..............bought Hoosiers on close out..........$250 ea for clean wheels

Then I use the 17' OEM mag wheels to get 1.49 60's out of the MT et street radial 275/40/17s

I am running 17 inch all around. 17s seem to give you a good amount of tire choices and they are cheaper.

Fronts 275 - I am probably going to move this to 295
Rears 315

I hae 2 sets of CCWs that I bought used. Look around because this is the time of year when people are cleaning out the garage.

It's hard to beat OEM Z06 wheels light weight and inexpensive. 17" tires are cheaper than 18" sizes, but if you are buying used tires there isn't that much of a difference.

The 17" OEM A-Mold GS wheels are hard to find and expensive new, but tire prices may offset this. Mine were paid for a long time ago. You can get reproductions, but they are heavier.

Hey guys, before y'all buy any wheels, I may have two (2) 9-1/2" X 17" authentic "A-Mold" black GS wheels for sale. I'm cleaning out my garage and taking inventory in the next couple of weeks. I'll post what I have when I assemble my stuff.
