Spent two days in Daytona last week watchinh practice, the banks on the turns are nearly 3 stories high, if you take them under 90mph the car will slide off to the bottom

But that's exactly where your particular car was designed to run. I've followed it around the banking several times.

Does anyone have a good story about why Corvettes are so non competitive in the GT Class? If the reason is rules, what are the rules that prevent Corvettes from being competitive while allowing RX8s and GTOs to be?

I'm not smart enough to know what all that means. Are the rules skewed to make some cars more competive and if so why? It would seem to me that if the rules provided a level playing field, that there would be more Corvettes in the field and they would be competitive. They seem to favor Porsche.

The Porsches are factory produced 996 and 997 race cars. The Corvettes are built by privateer teams. So that unfortunitly is a handycap.

The GXP is a Pratt & Miller built and team managed ( same as the C6R ) GM production. But owned by Leighton Ress.

The factory doesn't race the C6r in the Grand Am series. They race in AMLS, a competing series.
