Default Paul Van Valkenburgh leaves Racecar Engineering

This may be old news already to some but I just came across
Paul Van Valkenburgh's last column in the Jan/07 issue of
Racecar Engineering announcing his departure to teach a
graduate class in hybrid electric vehicles.

Several of his books and a collection of some of his RCE
articles are available on PVV's website.

I'll miss his articles. I've found him to be an inspiration.

I don't see why he couldn't do both though.

The same RCE issue has segments about the CoT and the changes
it accompanies, along with topics like the freezes FIA is legislating
in F1.

PVV writes that "my speciality has always been new ideas and
innovation" His column is titled "The end is nigh ..."

In the current climate he finds insufficient challenge and, my words,
when you look ahead at motorsport in the bigger picture ...

I hope it is possible to keep tabs on his path in the future.

he's actually gotten pretty dull the last few years.... simply rehashing old thoughts, and spending a lot of print complaining about the state of racing. His talent will be missed, but a fresh voice also will be welcomed
