FS: 1/2 pad Carbotech brakes - XP12s and 10s
After looking thru my used stock, here's what I have (to fit a C5):
Two Front sets of XP12s $50ea
Two Rear sets of XP10s $35ea
One Rear set of XP12s (for those that like the back end to do a bit more braking). This set has 2/3 of the pad left. $40.
The front XP12s and rear XP10s have at least half the pad left and the rear XP12 has two-thirds of the pad left.
These are great for DE events and for those on the fence about what racing brake to try. If you try them and don't like them, I'll refund your money. I haven't had any returned yet though!
Email me at wtknght1@aol.com if interested. Buyer pays shipping from North Carolina. I will also be at CMP in Mid Feb (for the National race) and can deliver there. Let me know.

What is the big difference between the 10's and the 12's. I have heard some say the the 12's are very hard on rotors but they last alot longer than the 10's. Trying to decided between the two. I will be on
r-compunds.

Stopping power!
On the Carbotech XP series, the higher the number, the better stopping power it has. Wear is about the same (if you're talking about the same end of the car).
Rotor and Pad wear is about the same from what I've seen over the past several years, but that actually has more to do with how hard you use them, and the temps they reach. At $20 a pop though for the rotors, I really don't care about wear that much. Most of the front rotors are not going to go much more than about 2 weekends before they crack anyway.
Since you're going to be using R-compound tires, I would use the XP12s on front and 10s on rear. That will give you a good weight transfer to the front tires and give you the max braking you can get. If you don't like so much front power, put XP11s or 12s on the back too. That will keep the car more level on braking, but I don't think it stops as fast...but is a bit more stable.
I personally like a lot of front end dive to transfer the weight to the front tires and keep it there. The back end is just for decoration at that point and I just need a touch of rear braking. It's also perfect for trail braking and rotating the car into the corner. The pads on the back of the vette are so small anyway, so the XP10s are perfect for that job.
Good luck and drive hard!
